Historic Quilt Exhibit
September 8-26, 2014
Our September exhibition is sure to be a real “stitch.” The Milwaukee County Historical Society will exhibit a number of quilts from its historic quilt collection. Many of these quilts have not been displayed for more than two decades. Dating mostly from the latter half of the 19th century, with some from the early 20th century, a number of styles are represented including log cabin, Irish chain, nine and ten patch, and a beautiful crazy quilt. These quilts will be hung throughout the main floor of the Historical Society and information sheets will be provided.
Doors Open Milwaukee Weekend
September 20th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and September 21st, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
One of the most popular downtown events of the Fall season, the Milwaukee County Historical Society will be participating in this year’s Doors Open Milwaukee event. The museum will be free to all on both days of the events.
Civil War Encampment
October 4th and 5th from 10 am to 4 pm
Relive history at this fun event at Trimborn Farm Park as we go back 150 years ago. There will be various re-enactors showing what life was like during the Civil War. They will explain things like what military life was like and what the woman did at home.
