Abstract: Henry O. Stenzel was born in Posen, Germany, in 1883.  His father passed away when Henry was very young, and he and his mother came to the U.S. in 1895.  He became a bicycle enthusiast and won numerous races, earning the moniker “The Speed King” in the newspapers.  His interest in cycling led him into the tire business.  He opened Milwaukee’s first exclusive tire repair shop in 1907.  In 1936, he formed the H.O. Stenzel Company and built it into a successful tire shop.  Henry passed away in March 1963.

Scope and Content: The collection contains biographical info/obituaries, newspaper clippings, photos, articles, and a copy of the June 18, 1886 issue of The Wheel, a cycling journal printed in New York.
