Scope and Content: Legislation was passed in the state of Wisconsin in 1980 to create programs and agencies to assist the aging and disabled population. The Governor’s Ombudsman program for the aging and disabled was one of many programs that were designed to do so. The Ombudsman program later added group homes. File includes: booklet to provide guidelines for selecting a nursing home, securing other types of living arrangements, or getting aid to stay in their own homes.
