Abstract: J. Hayward Friend was born in Grinnell, Iowa, in 1903. He graduated from Drake University and the Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He moved to Milwaukee in 1933 and practiced medicine for nearly 50 years, serving on the staffs of Lakeview Hospital and Edgewater Hospital and Clinic. He passed away in 1982.

Scope and Content: The collection includes biographical sketches, an obituary, newspaper clippings, World War II ration books, and medical literature.
