Abstract: John Ebner was born in Badin, Germany, and immigrated to Milwaukee in 1883. He worked with the F. Mayer Boot & Shoe Company for nearly four decades before he established the Ebner Shore Store in 1921.  John passed away in November 1926, but his wife took over as president and his son Ferdinand became a vice-president of the company.

Scope and Content: The collection consists of catalogs, invoices, and correspondence pertaining to the Ebner Shoe Company.  It also includes a newspaper article re Ferdinand Ebner bowling a near perfect game, 1933, and Helen Ebner’s notebook containing lessons from Milwaukee Public School’s Domestic Science Courses.
