Abstract: Benjamin Dolnick was born in Russia in 1896 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1908.  He went to school in Chicago and got involved with the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union.  In 1936, he became organizer and union manager for the Ladies Garment Workers’ Union in Milwaukee and held that position until 1946.  That year, he became a manager with Dorothy Dean, Inc., a subsidiary of Rhea Manufacturing Co., eventually becoming vice president of manufacturing in 1955.

Scope and Content: The collection includes an autobiography, correspondence, a resolution from Federal Labor Union #20617 of Wausau stating their appreciation for Dolnick’s service during a strike, a speech Dolnick gave at a Labor Day rally, certificates to conventions, dues card, an invitation, The Emancipator newsletter,  and clippings.
