An online archive funded by Marquette University and the National Endowment for the Humanities, explore the many ways children experienced city life during the last century and a half. Designed for use by teachers, students, historians, and general users, the site features hundreds of documents and images about children in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

Damon Woods Neighborhood Association
A non-profit organization of volunteers from Lowell Damon Woods, a neighborhood of nearly 500 households in Wauwatosa. Named for Lowell Damon, a pioneer settler of Wauwatosa, whose home at 2107 Wauwatosa Avenue is the oldest house in the city.The house is owned by the Milwaukee County Historical Society, and the museum portion is open to the public.

The Greenfield Historical Society will accept 19th century genealogical, etc. inquiries for the area of the former Town of Greenfield that presently includes the cities of Greenfield and West Allis, the villages of West Milwaukee, Greendale, and Hales Corners, and the southwest side of the City of Milwaukee.

A non-profit educational organization dedicated to increasing the public’s awareness of Milwaukee’s historical and architectural heritage.

Milwaukee Public Library
The strengths of the genealogical holdings at the library include methods books on how to do research, bibliographies, family histories, a large number of periodicals, and census materials.

North Shore Historical Society
This historical organization covers all the North Shore Milwaukee suburbs: Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Glendale, Fox Point, Bayside, Brown Deer, and River Hills. It is a newer historical society, about four years old, and is an educational institution. No website is currently available. Please contact the organization through the above linked email address.

Oak Creek Historical Society

Sokol / Sokolice Milwaukee
Sokol Milwaukee is a Czech Gymnastics and Heritage Organization and member of the American Sokol Organization. Our group welcomes members of any nationality with an interest in our gymanstics program or Czech/Slovak Culture.

South Milwaukee Historical Society
Museum and archives are located at what was once part of farm owned by Alfred and Mary Jane Fowle.

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Urban Archives
The Archives provides access to primary sources by serving as an Area Research Center (ARC) of the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS). The Milwaukee ARC Collection includes birth, death, marriage, naturalization, probate, and property records for Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Washington, and Waukesha counties. By participating in this statewide network of ARCs, the Archives can provide local access to the holdings of the WHS and other ARCs via the ARC transfer system. In addition, the Archive maintains a reference collection of published sources that relate to its archival holdings and manuscript collections. It includes histories of area communities, businesses, organizations, and churches.

Wauwatosa Historical Society
The Wauwatosa Historical Society was established in 1977 to preserve and disseminate materials related to the history of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and is headquartered at the Kneeland-Walker House and Victorian Gardens. WHS actively supports preservation initiatives and provides educational programs and many community events. The organization maintains archival storage, artifact displays, and a Research Library which is open to the public and staffed by trained volunteers.

Wisconsin Slovak Historical Society
The Wisconsin Slovak Historical Society maintains a Slovak Heritage Museum at 3702 E. Layton Avenue in Cuday, Wisconsin. There is an open house the 1st Sunday from April through October, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Check website for upcoming events and information on the Slovak choral group.
