2015 Annual Appeal to Society Supporters

November 23, 2015

Dear Milwaukee County Historical Society Supporters,

Reflecting on all of the great things happening at the Milwaukee County Historical Society, one word comes to mind – sharing. The concept is so simple yet encompasses many small and large acts of kindness, generosity and volunteerism. It is because of people like you, our supporters, and your willingness to share – your stories, photographs, time, or financial gifts – that the Historical Society is able to serve and thrive in our community.

Since 1935, the people of Milwaukee have shared their historic photos, documents, and artifacts with the Historical Society. In return, the Society shares Milwaukee history through our research library, education programs, historic sites and exhibits. We have improved or introduced new programs this year and strive to build our outreach to people of all ages. Some highlights of how we share our knowledge and resources with the community are:

• Field trip experiences at the downtown Historical center and Trimborn Farm.
• Our 2016 major exhibition, Brew City MKE: Craft, Culture and Community, will focus on the history of beer and brewing in Milwaukee and is the first comprehensive exhibit of its kind.
• Partnerships with educational institutions and local organizations that offer experience-based learning opportunities to Milwaukee’s future leaders.
• Thousands of people participating in programming for all ages including the Harvest of Arts & Crafts, Trimborn Heritage Weekend, A Very Merry Milwaukee and special exhibit-related programs.

The above highlights underscore the Milwaukee County Historical Society’s continual commitment to share and be a presence in Milwaukee for years to come. Accomplishing our mission, however, is not possible without your support. We ask that you consider a year-end gift to the Milwaukee County Historical Society. Your contribution will allow us to continue sharing our remarkable resources.

I hope to see you at the Historical Center during the holiday season or ahead in the new year for our major exhibition which opens on January 11th.

Sincerely,

Mame McCully
